Why are you involved in the NUM?
The NUM offers the opportunity to pool the expertise and skills of university medicine and strengthen them through mutual networking. In the area of pathogen monitoring, the NUM plays an essential role in supporting data exchange and data analysis between different university hospitals and other stakeholders.
What was the biggest success in your NUM research project?
In the context of SARS-CoV-2, with NUM support, we have succeeded in showing that chains of infection in the general population can be traced and better understood - if sequencing data are combined in sufficient quantity with methods of classical epidemiology.
