That was the NUM Convention 2025!
On 25 and 26 February, the Network University Medicine invited all those active and interested in NUM for the second time to an intensive exchange on the future of interdisciplinary and multicentre clinical research at the bcc at Alexanderplatz. We take a look back at the event in this article.
The convention in figures:
- More than 500 people interested in medical research took part in the event.
- Over 100 speakers shared their expertise.
- And gave exciting insights into various specialist and research areas in 20 sessions.
We also asked the community itself about their impressions following the event. The following are selected results from the online survey (n=72):
- Around two thirds of respondents are involved in a NUM sub-project
- On a 10-point scale, the NUM Convention received a top rating of 8.5⭐
- On an organisational level, there was little to complain about: 97.2% of respondents were somewhat to extremely satisfied with the catering and registration process, while 98.6% were even positive about the general event organisation.
- The organisation of the content was also rated positively overall, but with differences in weighting. While 59.7% of respondents were extremely satisfied with the main programme and 38.9% were somewhat satisfied, the reverse was true for the sessions: 61.1% of respondents were somewhat satisfied and 36.1% were extremely satisfied.
- However, the anticipation of the next NUM Convention unites all participants: 100% of those surveyed would attend the event again!
In addition, many other suggestions were made, which we will be happy to incorporate into our planning for 2026.
The trade press also had fitting words for the event: "Community spirit replaces lone wolf scientific approach", wrote HCM magazine, while the Tagesspiegel Background Gesundheit summarised the arguments for the continuation of the NUM, which was unanimously called for by scientists and politicians at the convention.
Many thanks to all participants who contributed their expertise and thus made a decisive contribution to the success of the event!
