The RACOON Research Days focussed on the latest developments in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine. The symposium took place at the beginning of September at Frankfurt Academic medical centre. 150 participants exchanged ideas and followed the sessions on topics such as intelligent medical systems and data protection aspects in AI. One focus was on interdisciplinary research. In addition, the specialist audience and interested guests were given an overview of the NUM and its Reseach Infrastructures in various presentations.

RACOON (Radiological Cooperative Network) is an infrastructure of the NUM. All university radiology departments have joined forces in RACOON and set up a nationwide platform for the joint analysis of image data. This platform supports clinical and clinical-epidemiological studies as well as the training of AI models. There are currently five research projects using the infrastructure: RACOON-RESCUE, RACOON-CORE-PE, RACOON-FADEN, RACOON-PDAC and RACOON-PRECISEMD.
