The NUM Hub on the way to 6,000 users

We went live with the NUM Hub in January of this year and there are now almost 6,000 registered users. This impressive figure demonstrates the increasing importance of the NUM Hub as a central space for networking and dialogue within the NUM community.

Going live in January 2024

With the NUM Cloud, we have been able to offer the NUM community options for data backup and collaboration for some time now. When the NUM Hub went live in January 2024, new functions and services were added and brought together in a new navigation and work interface. The NUM Hub now offers a comprehensive package of tools: from secure cloud functions with the option of collaborative document editing to integrated communication tools such as chat and forums and simple project management tools.

Utilisation of the cooperation and convention portal this year

With the complete redesign of the "Cooperation Portal" this year, we were able to provide a platform to support the application process for the network's next funding phase (NUM 3.0). Newly created overview pages, a completely revised media centre and the use of already implemented functions. These include cloud, chat and forum functions - to support scientists from the community-driven development of ideas through to the submission of application documents for cooperative research projects involving all university hospitals".

The NUM Hub has also been put to good use in preparation for the NUM Convention 2025. Since October, an information and exchange portal, the so-called "Convention Portal", has been available in the NUM Hub, where we provide the entire community with essential information and opportunities for exchange - and the session organisers with protected areas for preparing the event.

The next chapters

The NUM Hub is constantly evolving. In the short term, we will be revising the menu navigation in the NUM Hub in the coming months. This will fundamentally improve navigation. In addition, project-related information pages with their own media libraries will be created that are precisely tailored to the needs of your research work.

Another important step will be the integration of portal pages, for example from the NUKLEUS sub-project or the study portal. This will enable the NUM Hub to develop even more strongly into the central digital hub of the NUM community.

From you. With you.

The NUM Hub depends on your active participation. So please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions for the further development of the platform.

In the next funding phase, we also want to further strengthen and formalise the involvement of users. To this end, we plan to set up a user advisory board that represents the broad spectrum of the user base and the experience backgrounds of the NUM community.
