Brief portrait

As a paediatric pneumologist and infectiologist, I was involved in NAPKON and several NUM projects (NU(M)KRAINE, COVerChild) as well as FOSA Paediatrics early on in the pandemic. Since 2022, I have been one of three advisory board spokespersons in an interdisciplinary, highly collaborative team. I would like to continue this task and continue to support the FOSAs and the NUM community in the next steps. Orientation and structures have changed a lot in these dynamic times and the further development of interdisciplinary scientific exchange in new areas, improving the transparency/usability of the structures for interested researchers, the possibility of interdisciplinary scientific exchange and the collection and condensation of project ideas/networking ideas are important to me. In this way, one of the great strengths of the NUM, the possibility of networking, can create a unique, interdisciplinary platform for (clinical) researchers to answer relevant questions with the help of the NUM structures. In addition to my work on the RKI's Expert Council on Pandemic Respiratory Infections, I am also involved in infection research at the German Lung Centre, on the board of the Society for Paediatric Pneumology and at the WHO. I would like to continue to contribute my experience of networking in a national and international context to the NUM.
