Digitalisation of health research: data infrastructure successfully tested
Symposium of the Medical Informatics Initiative
Berlin, 11 December 2024: At the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) symposium, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), experts from health research, healthcare and medical informatics presented the current results of the MII to around 350 participants in Berlin on 10 December 2024. Under the motto "Using data, strengthening research, improving care - our path to the European Health Data Space (EHDS)", one of the topics discussed was how well Germany is positioned for the EHDS.
In her opening speech, Katharina Peter, Head of the BMBF's Technologies in the Life Sciences Division, said: "The MII has developed innovative solutions that are driving the digital transformation in healthcare research and improving patient care. These successes must now be further developed and maintained together with the Network of University Medicine in order to successfully shape the future of data-driven health research in Germany."
