The AKTIN Research Group has presented the third public annual report of the AKTIN Emergency Department Data Registry. This comprehensive report provides an analysis of the treatment data that can be made available for research, monitoring and quality assurance via the Emergency Department Data Registry.
For the annual report, 46 Emergency Departments/Emergency Hospitals in 14 federal states provided their data. All cases admitted between January and December 2023 were included. Over 1.5 million treatment cases were registered during this period. Around 30 per cent of patients were admitted as inpatients. For the first time, the report also presents data from specialised paediatric emergency departments. In future, a separate report will be compiled for paediatric emergency care in collaboration with the EDCareKids project.
AKTIN@NUM is a Reseach Infrastructure in the NUM and operates the AKTIN Emergency Department Data Registry. This standardised electronic infrastructure collects data from patient care in Emergency Departments and makes it available for health reporting, quality assurance and health services research. 70 Emergency Departments are currently participating in the register.
